FAQ

Frequently asked
questions

Quick answers to the most common questions about TrooVote.

Is voting anonymous?

Yes. You can enable anonymous voting per election. When anonymous mode is on, vote submissions are recorded without linking them to a specific voter identity.

How do you prevent duplicate votes?

Each voter is verified via OTP (WhatsApp or SMS) before they can vote. The system limits each verified voter to one submission per election, preventing duplicates.

Do voters need to install an app?

No. Everything works directly in the browser. Voters just tap the link, verify with OTP, and vote — no downloads or sign-ups required.

Can I export results?

Yes. Download results anytime from the reports workspace. Exports include voter lists, completion status, and detailed audit reports in Excel format.

How many voters can I have?

The free tier supports up to 50 voters per election. For larger elections, paid plans are available based on your voter count. See the pricing page for details.

Can I use TrooVote for RWA or association elections?

Yes. TrooVote is purpose-built for communities like Resident Welfare Associations, clubs, and professional associations. You can import your voter list, set eligibility rules, and run a fully audited election.

What is the difference between a Poll and an Election?

A Poll is a single-question vote — ideal for quick decisions or surveys. An Election supports multiple positions (e.g. President, Secretary, Treasurer), each with their own candidates and vote count.
