• Account information: name, email address, and mobile number provided during registration or OTP login.
• Voter information: names and mobile numbers of voters added by election organizers for private votings.
• Usage data: pages visited, votes cast, features used, and actions taken within the platform.
• Content you create: voting titles, descriptions, candidate options, and poll questions you set up.
• Payment information: billing details for voter capacity plans (we do not store full card numbers).
• Device and browser data: IP address, browser type, and operating system for security and analytics.

2. How We Use Your Information

• To provide, operate, and improve the TrooVote platform.
• To deliver OTP-based login and authenticate voters.
• To process payments for voter capacity plans and send billing communications.
• To send product updates, support responses, and service notifications.
• To detect fraud, abuse, and security threats.
• To comply with applicable Indian laws and regulations, including the IT Act, 2000.

3. Data Sharing

We do not sell your personal information. We share data only with:

• Payment processors for voter capacity plan billing.
• Cloud infrastructure providers (AWS) for hosting and storage.
• SMS and WhatsApp providers for delivering OTP messages.
• Email service providers for transactional communications.
• Government or law enforcement agencies when required by law.

4. Voter Data

Election organizers who upload private voter lists are responsible for having the appropriate basis to share those voters' details with TrooVote. Voter mobile numbers are used solely to deliver OTPs and authenticate voters for the specific voting they are registered in. We do not use voter data for marketing purposes.

5. Data Storage and Security

Your data is stored on AWS infrastructure in India or the Asia-Pacific region. We use industry-standard encryption (TLS in transit, encrypted storage at rest) and access controls to protect your data.

6. Cookies and Sessions

We use session cookies to keep you logged in and to maintain application state. We may also use analytics cookies to understand platform usage. You can disable cookies in your browser, though some features may not work correctly.

7. Data Retention

We retain your account data for the duration of your use of the platform and up to 90 days after account closure, unless a longer retention is required by law. Content you delete is removed within 30 days from backups. Completed voting records may be retained for audit purposes for up to 2 years.

8. Your Rights

• Request access to the personal data we hold about you.
• Request correction of inaccurate data.
• Request deletion of your account and associated data.
